Devoto according to Claudio Devoto

30 years ago my wife and I dreamed of a creative, artisan self-employed job, using this magnificent material that is wood. With great enthusiasm and a large dose of foolhardy passion not only did we invent a job but a profession, independent of the market, the competition, the technology, the suppliers. Initially we were only two, then we became three, then four, then five, and so on. The transformation from pure artisans to a fully organised firm came about through an important project with Paolo Portoghesi: the Mosque of Rome, with its enormous main doors, its library, and its cultural centre. Despite its difficulty, it was a magnificent piece of work, and I would be more than happy to go back in time, to 1990, when this project was accomplished.
It was from 1990 that the process of transformation of an artisan joinery workshop into a company began: we welcomed architects able to plan and surveyors able to manage light building work projects, until its transformation into today's Devoto S.p.a.
Over the years its collaborators have multiplied, investments in work-space and machinery have continued to grow and the market has given us the opportunity to work in all Italy and abroad.
In 2008 a major task of reorganization has taken place and this website is a synthesis of this.
With great satisfaction we have participated to complicated projects, winning awards and recognition, without however letting our success go to our heads: we continue to work with diligence and honesty, never with speculation.
